Our Story
Heart On Your Sleeve LLC was founded in 2021 by Nora Copeland. Nora is a born and raised Jersey Girl with aspirations to pursue her passions in life. Nora is the Owner and Creative Director/Designer behind Heart On Your Sleeve. Nora is a proud alumni of Montclair State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and later obtained her Master’s degree in Accounting. By day, Nora is a Corporate working mom of two beautiful kids, Andrew III (6) and Laela (3) and is fully supported by her loving husband of 8 years Andrew Jr. Nora has a creative passion and love for fashion. Creating designs to share with the country has been an outlet for Nora during the many stresses of our journey called life! Outside of being a wife, mom, & boss....Nora enjoys dancing and spending valuable time with friends and family and is aspiring to be a full time Mompreneur!
What was your inspiration behind the brand?
“For those who know me well, know that I rarely hold back my thoughts and feelings. To me being true and honest with others (though not always openly received!) is important in life. I like to live with no regrets and want to be sure that others always know where I stand in life and what my true feelings are...my way of open and honest communication is a form of how I express my love for those who I hold near and dear to my heart. I am a huge fan of making a statement through fashion and graphic design apparel where people can inference what type of person you are or what you are going through in life based on thoughts and feelings without having to say a word but simply expressed through fashion. I love wearing apparel that demands the attention of others to stop, read, and think....hence Heart On Your Sleeve was born!”
What is your vision for the brand?
“My vision behind the brand is to design apparel that makes a statement and demands attention that people ENJOY wearing! I want my apparel items to become stable pieces in a person’s everyday attire whether it be a relaxed fit day or dress it up for an occasion. When people think of my brand I want them to think of the messaging but also the quality behind every piece and the affordability of the apparel and products.”
What inspired your first collection “Self Love”?
This past year has been a tough year on many people. However, there have been some silver linings that have come out of 2020. For me it helped me to realign myself to truly value spending time with my family and understanding that I want more out of life. I’m on a journey to hone in on my passions in life and really understand my purpose in life and follow the plan that God has for me. I am seeking “true” happiness. Through all the trials and tribulations that come your way and the daunting tasks of every day life and working to make a way for yourself and family sometimes you neglect to take care of YOU. It’s important to take care of your health and your mental well-being. At times I lose sight of that and have to remind myself the importance of taking care of me not only for myself but also for my family. I want be the best ME possible and really be present in their life. Some days I still struggle with loving and accepting myself for who I am and what I’ve been through. This pandemic has put a lot of strain on people’s mental health and I wanted to create a collection that expressed the need to love yourself and care for yourself and realize that you are enough and that you have a purpose in life. You are perfectly imperfect and loved! Be the best you that you can be....live life with no regrets as you only get ONE!
Though “Self Love” is my first collection, there will be many collections to come. I hope to create collections that connect with diverse groups of human beings looking to make a fashionable statement.
